Anybody else playin this yet? I'm pretty hooked and I've only had it a couple hours. It's basically like 2003 w/ vehicles.

You can d/l the demo here (http://www.unrealtournament.com/ut2004/downloads.php)

I've played it. I'm glad they put assault mode back in UT. They vehicles are pretty fun, played with that buggy that sprouts blades out of the sides? Fun stuff.

I'm usually getting mowed down by that buggy. I usually go for the lil hovercraft thing, it's pretty fast and easy to dodge missle with. Right now it's a good distraction to keep me from writing my midterm papers.

UT 2004 is fun but I still have no clue as to who or what I'm supposed to start slaying. seems to me like a giant cluster bomb.

I guess because I haven't played any of the previous releases.

I learned what was going on basically by following people around that were on my team, if they shot at something so did I. The rules made sense in no time. Basically gotta get each point on the map your color by shooting it, then you can attack the other teams base to win.

is it worth picking up, or should i wait for something better to come along.

If you got a system that can play it with at least recomended specs it's worth it.

i just bought a computer
i dont know much about what the specs mean, but here are some
Pentium4 2.8Ghz
160 GB hard drive
512 MB DDR SDRAM
NVIDIA GeForce4 MX Graphics
and i have a DSL connection

do you think that should work, or will it lag too much.
i was hoping this computer would be good enough.

Ought to be good enough, but that video card may cause you some problems. It says the min specs are for a 32 meg graphics card. You may have to low the detail a bit, but your processor may take up some of the slack.

We are all hooked. My buddy will stay up till like 5am sometimes putting in an 8 hour session. Kinda looks like it can get to be a problem

I just have the demo with just the one map per type, and since its so much like 2003, I got bored of it very quickly. I've got a few friends that have picked it up though, so it will likely be one of our weekly LAN / WAN party games.
