Thanks Mbrooks420 02-22-2004, 10:04 AM What's your axle ratio? You aren't real concerned about mpg are you? You will loose some power and gas mileage, especially if you have less than a 3.73, or a 4.10. N2MUDN91 02-22-2004, 11:35 AM I didnt notice a difference in gas mileage when i went from 235/75's to the 31's. Ive got 3.55's. I did notice a huge loss in power though. Lack of acceleration. Shane canada74 02-22-2004, 12:01 PM yup same here, lack of power and acceleration.....went from 235's to 31's MACP34 02-22-2004, 07:55 PM 31X10.5's will make your X look real sweet without over doing it. I have 3.73 gears so the slight loss of power feel is made up by slightly more right foot on the V8 :D CodePoet 02-22-2004, 08:07 PM If you have the manual tranny like I do you will really only notice any power loss in 5th gear. I 'have a high ratio too 3.27ls it' s crap and I hate t. BUT the manual tranny's first gear is quite a bit lower than the auto version: ....Auto......... Manual 1 2.47:1 ..... 3.4:1 2 1.47:1 ..... 2.2:1 3 1:1........... 1.5:1 4 .75:1....... 1:1 5 NA........... .79:1 R 2.1:1...... 3.42:1 Because of the lower final ratios I haven't experienced nearly as much loss as some seem to. In fact I would say I haven't really experienced any until I get into 5th gear. But that's just my experience. Good luck CP :D Metallic2001 02-22-2004, 09:58 PM Do u get a lot of road noise? Thanks for all the info too...i am pretty sure i am going to get some to make my x look meaner :D canada74 02-22-2004, 10:13 PM i have bfg's at/ko's and there is some noise, but it seems to disappear whenever the radio is turned up Fhantazm 02-23-2004, 07:50 PM I have Cooper Discoverer A/T's(good middle of the road tire) and switching from a 235/70r15 to a 31 actually made the ride a lot better, and there was no more noise than the others. I have 3.55 gearing and did not see a real decrease in gas mileage. Power impact was there, but neglegable, especially if your on rather flat terrain. Hope this helps! AspenX 02-23-2004, 08:02 PM Their great!:) Metallic2001 02-23-2004, 11:11 PM i did some researching on the website and the answers seemed to differ...does the 31s rub with stock rims?? 1994 limited 4x4 Fhantazm 02-24-2004, 12:03 AM Their is no definitive snwer to that. Fact is some stock height sploders rub and some dont at all. I had 31's on mine when it was stock height and had absolutely no problems. And as far as the stock rims are concerned there are people running 33's on them with no trouble. XtremeSnow 02-24-2004, 12:19 PM I just put a set of 31x10.5 on my stock Limited rims about a week ago, and there is no rub at all in normal driving. I can't get it to rub even on rough terrain, but I still have my sway bars in, so that makes a difference. The loss of power is noticable but it's winter now, so I have no problems with that, the most noticable thing for me is the weight of the tires. Now when I go over seperations in the pavement, curbs or pot holes, the truck bounces around like crazy... I need to get new shocks I guess, but it is a huge difference from the 235/75 wranglers I had on... Noise is not bad, I like it actually, and I ride a little higher than a stock X... Biggest benefit - Huge traction difference, my ABS rarely comes on, and I can drive in 2x4 without feeling suicidal. Oh yeah, there is lots of snow here... I would say go for it, the truck looks sooo much better with the bigger rubber and the traction is worth it. Good Luck! XtremeSnow 02-24-2004, 06:12 PM Ak: it is 3.73 as far as I know...
