Probably a noob question ... My apologies.

Wondering what size tires to put on my maroon 94 Explorer XLT. Would 31" tires or 32" tires look better with a 2" or 3" body lift ..... also, would it look bad if I leave stock rims on the explorer?
Any pictures of a 2 or 3 " lift with 31 or 32 tires on a 1st generation Explorer would be great .

If I get 3" body lift with 31" A/T tires, would this look good? And, would I need to change the gears or anything ... what are the pros and cons of getting a body lift and bigger tire? would I lose a ton of acceleration and mpg etc etc. ? Thanks.

. Explorer is a V6 .. as all 94s are I think. I'm not sure what gears ..

you can fit 31's with f150 coil spacers and warrior shackles better lift and easier to install. the stock rims look fine

Im lookin to do just about the same thing. I was thinkin of about a 4in lift but i dont know if it should be body or suspension. I figure suspension is probably better since its more expensize. Also, I know theres a chart somewhere on here for lifts and the size of tires that would fit. If someone knows where it is, it would be a help. Also, can you get almost any bigger tire that still goes on the stock rim?

http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/images/top_search.gif Suspension is almost always better than body. Stock rims are really only good to a 10.5 inch wide tire.

i have 31's on my x-sport (94) right now without any lift.
it looks tough. i want to get some different wheels though. i read that a 15x8 wheel is best for 31's. i bet if you did coil spacers and add a leaf you could get 32's under there.

just alittle side note. If you want 4" lift you can't do it with a body lift even if you wanted to. They don't make 4" body lifts and they would be unsafe. YOu could do it with a spacer/shackle lift and a 2" body lift. that wouldn't be a terrible setup.

Good luck
