I turn my cold X on and let it warm up. After about 2 mins. of idling it begins to make a funny whining nosie. if i give it some gas the noise fades away, but if i let the gas go it comes back. Its not the belt i don't think because belts squeal. And I just got it replaced..but the noise was there even before i got the belt replaced. I can't figure out what this noise it. ive never heard it on any other car.

possible IAC

is your intake stock? the intake is cuase to a lot of noise problems, especially if oyu have an aftermarket intake system such as k&n or kkm....

ah, just noticed you have a tb spacer... this could contribute... you may also have a vacuum leak

Should be a three inch cylindrical object that is mounted on the upper intake manifold with a small black plastic cap. The worse the IAC becomes, the louder the whistle. You can sometimes clean it with some throttle body cleaner, but eventually it will need to be replaced.

my explorer is making the same noise i believe.I have been in search of a good explorer site with lots of info.I recently got a 95 eddie bauer, and its making a whining noise, especially if my heat is on.If I hit the gas when the heat isnt on then it'll cut out,but if the heat is on then it will continue to do it.It is VERY loud and nerveracking.Someone said maybe its a pulley,compressor,belt...I no hardly anything about cars, especially about SUV's..Im used to my lil honda.Any help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED
