My 4WD shift knob is twisted so the gear labels are 90 degrees off. I tried turning it back with brute force and it didn't work so its not loose or anything. What would cause this and how do I fix it?

What would cause this and how do I fix it? i assume you mean that you have a manual shift transfer case, that being the case, the knob is threaded. just pull on it real hard and it should come off then you can re-align it. if in fact its stripped your SOL unless you get another shift lever. nkexplrr 02-27-2004, 01:08 AM Thanks, it is a manual shift, heck with it doesn't hurt me a bit might as well leave it then. |
