I am still doing some research and I was wondering if anybody has 31's on a 15x8 rim mounted on a stock explorer with no lift? I am just wondering if it will rub b/c i heard a 15x7 wont but a 15x8 is likely....I havea 1994 4x4 4dr

You have it right, 15x7 it might not rub 15x8 its likely to.

is the lug pattern on a 94 a 5x4.5 (114.3)?

I'm running a set of 31 x 11.50's on a 92 stock - on 8.5" aluminum wheels - and they rug on full lock turns.

I am going to boost it about 2" on each end and cut away any offending sheetmetal in the front end. Should be good then.
