Well after thinking about getting a Mini-Z Overland for a long time, Kyosho just came out with the Mini-Z Monster and I had to pick it up. It cost a little more then I originally wanted to pay for a mini r/c car. After looking over the details of the car I decided to go for it. The first time I ran it was with the cheap AAA Alkaline cells I bought to hold me over until the AAA 850 mAh NiMh cells were charged. In stock form with cheap batteries in it – it performed well. After a few minutes of running I took it from a 10tooth pinion down to a 9tooth. That change yielded more torque, and helped pull the front wheels off the ground. After the NiMh cells were charged the Monster really came to life! This little thing is almost unstoppable!! It has tons of articulation and good traction, if things get to hairy just install the rear locker and you are set! I have already upgraded to a full bearing set, which any r/c needs, and oil shocks to help with the landings after jumping it. The run time with the 850 cells is around 1.5-2 hours!!! This little truck is so cool my whole family likes watching it mash around the house, ever the cats!!
Sorry it is so long but if you are tired of all the mini r/c’s on the markets and want something new check out the Mini-Z Monster, don’t let the price of it scare you, it is worth it!!!
