Awesome flex from the IFS. . .now you gotta wishbone or 4 link the rear end to get some flex back there. ;)

And on the Knex, I think you need to soften up the 'spring' rate. Either that or go dual rate :D that'll help the flex. Steering would be nice also. LOL

Good idea. A nice sturdy one. Getting a little too much frame flex right now.

Everything i did with my own head :D , i never use instructions.

In fact i couldnt find any lego or knex instructions for IFS, especially IFS with steering, if anyone is interested, i can make a new one and get some pics :D.

Designing the IFS started with lego, first one (which is like the last picture there) was kinda like TTB, which the steering didnt go to well (notice the wheel on top of both lego trucks?). I put long rods off the "spindle" thing and ran a sorta messed up system, ill make some photochop stuff of it later. The next one (first truck) i wanted to do solid axle and TTB, i gave up on TTB and went to IFS. Steering was alot easier for sure on this one, just managed to plot it out right except for the fact it messes up the alignment (pulls both wheels pointing in). I have an idea to fix that, but i destroyed the truck already :D.

Then after that one got snuffed, i went to knex, since it seemed alot easier. First one was weak, real weak, hit the smalles bump, and the wheel would break off. Now i used fishbone suspension :D and its alot stronger, though not flawless.

I also had to use a bigger type of "spindle" thing for this (instead of the red one on odxtoxics nice knex frame :) since it seemed to give me more flex, though since hes got longer arms for it, he probably gets just as good, if not better.

Sorry i rambled on, im just really bored right now, so anyone got any questions post them lol

An steering will hopefully come soon for knex ;) Any lego i posted has been... destroyed lol.

I would soften up the rear springs (they stop flex) but i like the ass end higher lol

i really dont understand how you could ever put some steering into it...it'd be really complicated

i can flip my frame upside down, switch the rubber bands around, and it works the same

if you get anything figured out post some pics :D

lol, i sure will, i can get solid axle steering, but im more into the ifs steering, it will be complicated for sure, but possible ;).

Just put a second band on the underside and make a low profile, reversible body. . then you never have to worry about a :roll: :D


You guys made me get out my Super Swamper'd 'Splorer:

Its been highly modified from its 'stock' state. Roof rack removed, grill guard removed, rear spare tire removed (was a 235 LOL ) and de-riced it (tons of stickers everywhere). The suspension has been highly modified ;)

Now it just needs the EB trim repainted. And maybe some window tint.
