4Wheelin 01-24-2000, 07:00 PM The one in the picture is the ProComp Prerunner Universal bar, but I just bought the same bar for a 94 Ranger and it fits but the only difference is that the mounts for the Ranger one are under the grille and this one is on the bumper. I think you are better off with the Universal model becasue it is less of a problem to mount.
rock883 01-24-2000, 07:31 PM I checked at the pro comp site, and they only make them in grey and black, and the one in the picture is chrome, I think this one might be the smittybilt one.

4x4Hunter 07-03-2001, 07:41 PM Did you guys ever figure out who made that prerunner bumper bar? I really want to get one but i'm not sure if i want to get the Universal ProComp or the Fabtech one. I'd rather get the ProComp, but the fit of it makes me nervous. If the prerunner in that picture is really the universal one...I'll go pick it up.
BislamJoe 07-03-2001, 10:17 PM James Duff makes one that I think looks killer. Check it out at www.jamesduff.com
4x4Hunter 07-03-2001, 10:48 PM The Duff bar replaces the entire bumper and everything. I'd rather not take the bumper off at this point. I'd like a ProComp or Fabtech I think
C Jeff 07-20-2001, 06:02 PM I bought mine from a company called ORI (Off Road Innovations) the guy was real nice he has only been selling to the public for a short time. I paid less than $200 including shipping. I think it looks great. I went with the prerunner because I didn't want the common "brush guard" or the expense of them. It was pretty easy to install the only thing I didn't like was where it is attached to the top of the bumper on my 95' I had to make a larger hole(approx 1-1/4") through the plastic cover to get metal to metal contact. I took me about 1-1/2hrs to complete. I do suggest a helper for marking the mounting holes and getting the bolts started. Send me your email address and I will send you a picture. By the way the phone # for ORI is 619-588-2568.
RangerX 07-21-2001, 04:42 AM The Explorer in the picture belongs to BKennedy, from this board. I'm sure he can tell you who makes it.
kaised 07-21-2001, 08:57 AM Can anyone list the site where they found these bumpers...? I checked Procomp and couldn't find it.... I would LOVE to get a bumper like that, I didn't realize they made them for exploders.... Would one made for a Ranger or BII actually fit?
4x4Hunter 07-21-2001, 11:26 AM What picture RangerX? I dont see a link or pic. I've got a 91.... From what i've heard I can get the Fabtech prerunner for $145 after s/h Thats not bad. The guys at Natltire.com tell me that it is a good fit.
4x4Hunter 07-21-2001, 11:28 AM You mean the picture at the very top. Sorry...brain finally kicked in .
4Wheelin 07-21-2001, 12:31 PM I am actually looking to sell mine if anyone is interested. I am asking $150+shipping o.b.o.
Tekeman 07-21-2001, 09:06 PM Westin has one that may not exactly be labeled a pre-runner, but I don't know I would label it a brushguard either and I think it easily bolts up. I don't want the weight of a wrap around and don't want something that will take away from my billets and light covers.
4x4Hunter 07-21-2001, 10:08 PM I think that Westin makes the "bumper thumper" which is a bumper guard without the brush wraps for the lights. I have been told that the pro comp explorer pre runner that is the "universal" would fit alright. However the Fabtech prerunner is a "good" fit for the 91-94 Explorers.
4Wheelin 07-21-2001, 11:46 PM Mine was meant for a 93-97 Ranger but I had the mounts modified to fit my truck so it is a perfect fit.
WorkTeke 07-23-2001, 08:01 AM got a picture Ryan?

BajaXplorer 07-23-2001, 01:01 PM Those aren't really bumpers. There more of a light bar.
Heres some real bumpers that could actually protect your X from something.

WorkTeke 07-24-2001, 03:55 PM Ryan,
How would the bar mount up on the 95+ bumper?
And yours is the pro comp universal, modified?
Were you including the lights? : )
jimbo74 07-24-2001, 03:58 PM i am waiting....on the duff site it says one will be available soon for 91-94 Xs and itll have a winch mount!!!!!!
Positive Vibes 07-24-2001, 04:22 PM Who makes the bumper in the top picture or is it a special one?
jimbo74 07-24-2001, 04:24 PM it is posted in like the 3rd or fourth repsonse
4x4Hunter 07-24-2001, 05:46 PM How about a Model # for that Smittybilt bumper Jim?
4Wheelin 07-25-2001, 12:48 AM Mine was for the 93-97 Ranger which if I am not mistaken had the same front as the 95. The only thing that would have to be modified would be the mounting brackets. I am inclusing a set of Rallye lights with this if anyone is interested, sorry I am keeping the PIAA's.
