What`s the secret formula for avatars guys? I did mine from one of my moab/ BTR pics and it looks crappy!

2 Questions:

1.What program did you use to resize it?

2.What Pixel count did you get that to? That is quite large :cool:

also, his license plate is visible becuase of the posting of the original... but its blacked out in the avatar... but we all nkow what it is now....

As for pixel count, I have no idea, I just shrink till it fits. I was wondering if there was a magic number to shrink to, I don`t understand the pixel versus image size mechanics of the operation.

I guess it doesn`t look bad, but others seem sharper?

Naw, you just take the pic with a little tiny camera. I became Elite at Moab but dont know how to do pics, or have a digital camera.

90 X 90 pixels is the MAX...most pics don't let you do that though...

My avatar is probably 90 X 65 or something....

I know, I know, it`s just the "which ever is smaller" thing that confuses me, because it seems like I can have a 90x90 image and it still doesn`t fit until I reduce the quality enough. What program are you using that you can simply reduce it to 90x90 and voila, done?

photoshop comes with a "save for web" option that lets you decrease the file size as you save it.

Hey, after you mentioned that, I see my program has that option as well. My first attempt made a big splotchy mess, but I`ll monkey around with it for a bit before whining again!
