The Haynes manual shows tie rod end lube locations, pitman arm, steering
linkage, my truck has no zerks. The book say's something like "if there are plugs you can install grease fittings etc."

Anyone know if these are sealed and don't need lube for the 99 models,
or do you actually have to install grease fittings yourself??

Welcome to the site.. Ford did away with alot of suspension components with zerk fittings as a cost cutting initiative. You can get aftermarket parts like ball joints that have zerk fittings.
