Just had the upper ball joint / control arm on passenger side replaced and noticed that the dealer replaced it with a one piece just like the drivers side, the old one was a two piece that I thought allowed for caster adjustment
is this normal procedure?
curious becasue I also noticed that they billed the warranty co for a ford part new steering rack and but while under the truck I couldn't help but notice the "remanufactured" sticker on the back of the rack ...
That's odd. Did they do an alignment? Check the spec sheet make sure everything is within spec(caster-wise). I guess if it's in spec you shouldn't be too worried....although I'd still be a little worried as to why they did that. Give them a call and ask?

didn't get an alignment sheet although over about a mile the truck tracks to the right half a lane every time no matter what side of the crown I am on.
I have my suspicion as to why they did it ... the part the warranty co paid them to put in cost twice as much as the one the put on ... same with my "remanufactured" steering rack ... shall call warranty co tommorow for more details ... they already ticked me off by charging 2 deductibles and a bogus $50 "diagnosis" fee scoundrals ...
