I saw this on 4x4rockshop.com and thought it looked like a good deal for what you get.

It's a 9500lb 5.5 hp winch, includes roller fairlead w/1 yr warranty for $559.00

Here's the link:http://www.4x4rockshop.com/Scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=9639

It does look like a deal. Are you getting one, Dave? ;)

As much as i'd like to get one, I want to get a rear locker first and some new leaf springs so the winch will have to wait.

Might be a good price, but is it a good winch?
My friend Rick bought a 9000# Warn with fairlead, mount, cable, controller, shipped to his door for $600, so you might want to shop around too..

I won't be shopping for one anytime soon, not until I get all the other mods I want to do first.
I don't much about the T-max brand so I don't know how good it is but being an Aussie made unit, i would be willing to bet it's of fair quality.

I saw this same winch on "e-winches.com" for the same price. Its from Australia so it should be tough. I don't like that one year warranty though.

I am looking at the Ramsey winches. They cost more but have a lifetime warranty. I should have one on, if I can get the front bumper from AJ's made by the end of the year.

Check out these bumpers

My favorite;

I emailed AJ and he should be able to make one for an Explorer by the end of the year with a bigger light hoop for my four lights. He is all backed up on orders right now.

Word is those T-max winches are Mile Marker knock off's and they are being sued. So as good of as a deal as it is, I'd hate to buy one and then be screwed if Mile Marker wins the case against T-max.
I'm with you Brian, stick with one of the name brands...you get what you pay for. :thumbsup:
