The factry code should be on a sticker on a module in the jack compartment.

DMan446 07-10-2004, 04:58 PM (5) how do you program a new remote the guys at the dealership are clueless

If memory serves me right, you turn the key to the "ON" position and back off 7 times in 30 seconds of less. The horn will sound once. Then click the remote "Lock" then "Unlock". If you have a second remote, quickly click "lock / Unlock" right after the first remote. The horn may or may not sound again. But that should take care of it.
spindlecone 07-10-2004, 05:17 PM will serve you well to go to ebay and get an owners manual, well answere alot of your questions:)
DMan446 07-10-2004, 06:13 PM Thats true, if he doesnt have one, there is probably a ton on eBay to buy.
I have an owners manual myself, but its like 150ΒΊ outside, so I tried to remember it instead of going outside and drowning in sweat to look :)
mabulok 07-10-2004, 07:49 PM Haynes manuals go a long way as well. Between the owners manual and a Haynes, I'll take the Haynes.
SiLenZe 07-10-2004, 09:23 PM download / view your owners manual at fords web site

Mbrooks420 07-11-2004, 01:23 AM I'd get a an Explorer repair cd off of E bay. If you get angry at someone mentioning it as an Exploder you may be better off selling it. Explorer's can be finnicky and it sounds like yours has had a rough life. Check the tranny fluid color.
sailorsquid 07-13-2004, 08:03 AM thanks all for the info i got the code for the module and ive figured out the door locks is that all the panel does? ive got an owners guide coming from ebay unless someone out bids 25.00 then they need it way more than i do heheh. thanks for the website and thanks for the remote programming tip it took me a while but i got it. as far as the haynes guide goes it is useless as far as accsesory wiring such as w/wipers interior lights, etc but as far as the mechanical goes its awesome as far as decking my buddy he has been ragging me since i got it hes a chevy man and he thinks is blazer is perfect little does he know hes sunk more money into it to get it to do what my mine can stock heheh thanks to all but does anybody know about the windshield wipers and the interior lights ???
jayhawkexplorer 07-13-2004, 10:27 AM By the way, they're known as Exploders because of the Firestone tire debacle, not because of reliability.
sailorsquid 07-13-2004, 01:10 PM heheh i know but he still had it coming
Mbrooks420 07-13-2004, 04:31 PM All of the tranny shops around here call them Exploders, and it has nothing to do with Firestone. More so because they rebuild at least 1 Explorer tranny a week.
turtle313 07-14-2004, 06:12 AM from my limited experience, chilton manuals provide pretty good electrical system schematics, haynes provide none. Have you tried a chilton manual yet?
sailorsquid 07-21-2004, 12:21 PM no i havent but i will go get one
