If you do, help me out here. I'm looking for a bike to ride around campus with. I don't want a mountain bike because I don't like riding those other than offroad, plus I like BMX bikes. It'll fit in the back of my truck a lot easier as well.

Anyway, I need some suggestions on brands. I know the obvious ones, GT, Haro, S&M, etc. but I have seen some other brands on eBay that I haven't really heard of and I have no idea if they are off-brand or not. I want to get one off eBay preferably for under $200.

That's all I really know about these bikes. Any suggestions?

I just came across a Trek TR10, looks like a pretty solid bike for $180.

That looks like a nice bike. Is that from ebay?

No there aren't any from eBay. In fact there isn't much on eBay in the way of bikes that I like.

Well actually the suggested retail on trekbikes.com says $169.99 for it.

That is not a bad price. I raced BMX years ago, and have not really kept up, but I do know you won't touch many others for that price. GT, Haro, Redline - those we my preferences out of full kit bikes - Redline being the top. Most of mine were customs I built, and I don't think you want to go that route. A full bike will be cheaper.

I don't know how big you are (height wise), but another idea you might want to look at is a Schwinn 26", They are about the same size as mountain bike, but made for street. My wife can't ride mountains, but the one we got her at Wal-Mart is a good street bike. I'm 6'1", and I'd hate to know I had to get back on a 20" again. It would be uncomfortable. The front tire is on quick release, but I can get both of our bikes in the back of the Explorer when I need to without taking it off. One would be easy.

The Trek looks good but if you ever wanted to jump it or anything the wheels could not hold up to it. Also the top tube is real tiny, http://trekbikes.com/bikes/2004/bmx/tr10.jsp .
It says it is 18.5. My Mosh Brass 3 Star is like 20.5. I have ridden bikes with the smaller top tubes and you can definetly tell a difference. I would recommend something bigger.

This bike looks like it would be better for you. It has stronger cranks too. The top tube is 20.75 and it retails for $200.

Yeah the TR20 would be a better choice. I'm not very big (5'8) but I want a 20" bike at least.

I'm not worried about rust, I'm not gonna ride it in the winter. I think these bikes are a little more quality than most of the bikes around here which are like from Wal Mart, etc.

I have a GT, but I hardly ever ride it anymore. I like the way it rides though.

I have a GT X-games bike from 2000. (not the new kind from wal-mart). I paid 360$ for it. It came with 78 spoke wheels, steel frame(heavy but impposible to bend), and tekneo brake system. I love it. I really dotnt have time to ride it anymore so I gave it to my younger brother. He is 12 and all his friends envy him.

Right now I'm leaning towards the Hoffman Disrupter but I'm waiting until I can sell my PIAA fogs. I have pleny enough to buy it but I need to manage my money more carefully now that I'm in college.

I had a Hoffman EP I used to flatland on, expensive but still no rust. Hoffmans are bad ass but pricey
