Within the last month I have gone through 2 bulbs on my '96 Explorer.
Any one have any idea on why they would burn out? It's still completely
stock other than a new fog lamp housing (Replaced due to broken lense).

Water leakage, excess vibration, higher wattage bulb than stock leading to excess heat, and poor grounding come to mind.
Also, halogen bulbs prematurely blow if they are directly handled by the bare fingers: oils naturally produced by the glands on the body's skin can contaminate the outside glass bulb casing and result in premature failure.
It might be water or the vibration. I bought a couple housing w/lenses on eBay a few months back. Maybe I'll swap out the housing and see if that cures the problem. The bulb is just a replacement bulb from Napa, assuming it's the same one.
I just hate buying new bulbs every month. I may break down and replace the fog lights.
Thank you again.
