I have a 94 eddie b with the 4.0.
Does anyone know how much I can tow with this? I am looking for a covered trailer to pull my motercycle to the track. Do you think I can do this with this truck? Can I do any mods to help?
Thank you
Jim

To be safe, the limiting factor is your hitch tongue weight and total weight pulled. The bumper hitch has a lower rating than an actual hitch unit that bolts on the frame. Check your ratings. With my 1997 and air shocks, spring lifters, and weight distribution hitch, I tow a 2500 lb full-size flat bed with my Lightning pick-up on top which is total 6500+ pounds and, with common sense and safe approach, it does fine.

I tow a 3000 lb boat all around town with the bumper. I even take it on long trips once or twice a year. Get a tranny cooler if you don't have one. A hitch is great and needed for anything above 250 lb tongue and 3000 lb trailer weight I think. I have been meaning to get a hitch but it seems to do fine right now.
Performancenut, you have the 5.0 which has a little bit higher towing capacity then our 4.0, so keep that in mind.
