well, i personally dont really like too much cologne on a guy, it makes him seem a little desperate. special occasions are the exception though. I just like a guy to have a nice clean smell. Like a good smelling deoderant or soap. My boyfriend uses RightGuard Fresh deoderant, and it smells really good if you are up close, but its very subtle. Something like that would be my recommendation. ;)

actually, that idea above is actually a good choice... i was complimented today by the cute girl i work with to the effect that i smelled good, like soap and clean luandry :)

yup, its all about the clean, and acting like you're not trying too hard. girls love a guy who seems like they dont care about impressing. but not when they dont care enough to bathe :D so keep it clean but simple

Probably anything subtle is good - you don't want to impress the women like the little foreign dude on that 70's show... :D

I'm buying some "Chrome" in a while... I've heard from two girls (one present, one past) that they just love that smell (so long as its subtle). And the name sounds cool and masculine! LOL.

I wear curve. Women love that one for sure for some reason. Maybe because it's made by claiborne for men? (Liz claiborne?) I dunno.

The cologne I got asked about all the time was Armani, expensive but worth the "what kind of cologne are you wearing?"

Dial soap, irishspring soap, Lava soap when you been workin construction all day.
Slap on the smell good crap, your just trying to cover up not taking a shower.IMO

Ok guys...here's one for ya...Very Sexy for HIM by Victoria's Secret. I think it has to be my personal favorite on a guy. They have 2 formulas....the first one (in the black box, I think) is the one I like best. I like the 2nd formula (in the blue box) too but the first one is the one I really like. Who knew VS would have men's cologne? Might be worth a trip into the store guys! ;) ;)

Eternity is a great one or just about anything CK! I'm also from the old school and like Aramis a lot! I've walked down a hall shortly after a man wearing Aramis was there and nearly hunted him down to see what he looked like! LOL :D

I wear Chrome, Lucky you, Gio Armani, and Avatar... avatar is a good one to use if you dont want a cologne everyone else has that smells excellent.

Yea, my gf got me some a while back she loves it.... a lot of other girls compliment on it too.... so id say polo sport, very sexy, axe, not in any particular order ;)

I have had many compliments on the very sexy, ladys are just like oooooo your wearing very sexy. so i guess they like it lol. i have fierce by abercrombie and some girls like it. i need to get more polo sport, that was a classic good one. Chrome was also nice.

Me I can't stand any of the alchohol based scents.

Since my teens I have only used two scents, both being essential oils.

Patchouli is so a part of my skin at this point that if I do not apply for a few weeks and get sweaty I smell like......patchouli.

Recently I have become really fond of Sandalwood essential oil.

The patchouli always makes the cute little hippi gals smile and wander over to see what's in my pocket. The rest are just intrigued by a smell they don't know. A few give me the look....Hmm guess they think I am a little pothead in buisiness clothes LOL :D

Now the Sandalwood.....well it seems that since I have started using it I often find a variety of women sidling in closer to try to identify that smell. Rather amusing for a tied and bound guy with a kid.

The best that I've found are Mary Kay Domain and Velocity for Men (they smell like sex in a bottle)

I'm a big fan of Lacoste for men, the women's version smells great too. Calvin Klein romance for men, Kenneth Cole Black, the Victoria's secret man stuff smells pretty good too. I could go on forever guys, have smelled lots of men i guess? lol i dunno

I touch a little Perry Ellis to the backs of my wrists, then touch them to the opposite sides of my neck. That way, washing my hands later doesn't take it off. Plus it's spread around.

That said, here's a tip for the guys that may also work for the girls.

IMO every scent smells different on every person. My fave scent on a certain girl was Paris. But on my wife it just didn't work.

In finding her a new scent (not that she needs one; I love her au naturel, but sometimes a little spice is good) what I wanted to avoid was blowing $40 on a bottle of something I wasn't sure would work with her. We agreed we wanted something both of us would like, and the only way to know is to wear the fragrance for a few hours so it "settles in" and mixes with the natural body scents.

So, I took her out one night but stopped off first at the perfume area of a department store. We went from counter to counter applying a different fragrance to different parts of her -- left neck, right neck, back of neck, wrists, shoulders -- taking notes on what went where. (So we looked like dorks: whatever.)

Then, as the evening went on, I sniffed her at every opportunity, noting which areas I liked more than others.

By night's end, I had narrowed it down to two, one of which was just slightly more enticing than the other. I went back to the store the next day and bought Eternity Moment.

We've both been happy with it since. And we'll always remember the Night of the Thorough and Frequent Sniffing. ;)
