I just bought a 92 EB and I would like to know what makes the EB different from the other explores, if there is a difference.

The chrome bumpers and look-alike chrome grille look much better on the EB's than the cheap plastic stuff and black painted bumpers.

Only the 91 2-Door models have the Black front bumpers and grille. My 91 XLT 4-Door has the same front chrome bumper and chrome looking grille as the EB. Only on the rear bumper will you find a black plastic step top cover over the chrome bumper (XLT) instead of the beige plastic step cover of the EB.

Hmm, both my bumpers and grill were all black I also had the plastic part on top of the bumper that was black. I thought all Sports came with the black look to them.

Ryan & Big Poppa your right about the 2-Door Sport model having the all black grille and bumpers, but the regular (not the Sport) 2-door model XL,XLT or EB. have the chrome bumper and grille. I passed one this weekend coming back from Arizona and it was an XLT model.

Who needs luxury when you have speed?

There aint no chrome in the auto industry anymore gang, just bumpers on some SUV's, and with the 2001 Explorer that dies too. What we have now is bright plastic. On my Lexus the trim is actual chrome, one of the last cars on earth to have this, Jaguars, and Benzes have real chrome too. Thats it though.

There are two mechanical differences to the EB, I have a '92 also!
1- 3.73 gears
2- limited slip

Thanks for the info guys. So far I'm really pleased with my Explorer. It is the perfect addition to my hunting and fishing lifestyle.

p.s. My big dog seems to love it also.
