Almost all the reviews I've read said great things about the Kumho's. This was the Kumho M/T though. Also I saw a long review on a Jeep site and they were crazy about them. Beat the crap out of 'em and they never failed. huskyfan23 09-26-2004, 10:36 PM Haven't had any problems with my M/T, better than my Goodyears were. 92blusilvxlt 09-26-2004, 10:47 PM does less schwab sell kumho's? huskyfan23 09-26-2004, 11:15 PM No they don't. Discount Tire Center does, but the best place to buy tires is www.tirerack.com (say they're for a Jeep). 92blusilvxlt 09-26-2004, 11:37 PM yeah i think iam gonna go with the kumho's lots of good reviews on tire wear and a great price. rino351 09-27-2004, 11:36 PM good choice Post some feedback once you get some miles on them. glfredrick 09-28-2004, 09:41 AM I would chose the Kuhmo MT's in a heartbeat over the Generals... I have run them side by side on almost identical XJ's and the Kuhmo's stomped butt in both mileage (they are still running and the Generals are already on the trash pile for 6 months) and for off-road and snow traction. I walked up stuff where the Generals just sat and spun. For me - there is no question which is the better tire. Also, it's really funny how the people actually using the Kuhmo's love them - but the ones that aren't - don't... Hmmmm... might be something to be said there... I've run mine in Kentucky mud, clay, and rock and also in Moab with great performance everywhere. I regularly air them down for off-roading (about 18 is great with the Kuhmo's - and I have NEVER had a blowout - or a leak or a bad bead. I tend to forget to air back up and have driven them aired down on the freeway for extended miles. Try that with another tire... Anotehr friend is runnig the BFG MT's and we ran side by side at Moab to the Arches National Park, aired down - and his BFG's have huge cracks in the sidewalls - the Kuhmo's are fine. They are still running after about 30K miles and they are still at 50%. 92blusilvxlt 09-28-2004, 05:13 PM Yeah thats awesome.i dont know why more people dont run them? spindlecone 09-28-2004, 06:24 PM Who in the hell would ever buy a tire made in Korea? I bought the Kumho ecsta STXs, best road tire ever made bar none IMO glfredrick 09-28-2004, 07:31 PM Yeah thats awesome.i dont know why more people dont run them? Because a lot of self-proclaimed experts that have never ran them tell others not to... I too wish that they were made in America - but I run what I can get that works for the money. Have you guys ever seen the CORR race series in the upper midwest US? It has been sponsored by Kuhmo for a couple of years and several of the top trucks there are winning on them against BFG and Goodyear. http://www.corracing.com/ |
