I recently put a CB in my 91 Navajo, and have several questions for you experienced users out there.
First one is with regard to channels - which ones are the common ones to find people on, and which are the least used (if that's even an issue)?
Also, is my 91 Navajo one of the trucks that are involved with the fuel pump interference problem, since my CB receives a lot of noise when the engine is running, and not when it's off? I have run the power directly from the battery, but I guess that doesn't do the trick. I have to have the squelch way up when the car is on.
Any info about these two things would be greatly appreciated as I am quite curious. Thanks.

Hi Garrett,
Check this site out. It will enlighten you as it did me, especially the one titled "Things Every CB'er Should Know". It's at the very bottom of the page.

I have a CB in my explorer. When it comes to finding people on the trail it can be hard. not many off roaders go to a cretin channel it depends on who you are wheelin with. If you go with a group then you should have no problem if the rigs your with has radios. If ur by urself you can scan through the channels you should find someone out there but Ch 9 is for emergency only. It also depends on where you are! Here in the northwest Ch 17, 19, and 20 are popular for local base station guys. if ur radio has enough power u should be able to ask someone to go to a quiet channel to talk or ch 9 if an emergency. If ur on the trail by urself scann through till u find someone but be polite dont just start talkin. u might have to wait a while but wait until its quiet and say "BREAK ?? (ch #) wait for "GO AHEAD BREAKER"
you might have to do it a few times but they should let u break.
Good luck

Wow! 1999? Are you a Priince fan? Joking. Well, over here you don't have to say break because once you're on, you're on. I said break a few times at the start, but I kept hearing, "Who/What the he## was that?"
