How much would new seatbelts be for a 94 xlt ? they no longer retract unless i feed it into the loop

my old volvo did this i just sprayed some wd40 on the retract mechinism and it started working again. they worked perfectly except they did not retract that well

ouch that sucks i think with all the money i am putting in it to keep it running that the seatbelts can stay that way lol ill try the wd40 but if not i say screw it they still lock like they are supposed to so i dont see any danger in it

I had a problem with my drivers side retractor. I called ford and they said 80 something bucks. I'm cheap though so I went to the u-pull yard and got mine from a 92, it's actually a much strongers retractor (no plastic) for 8 bucks. I soaked the belt in soapy water for awile, put a small vice grip on the belt to keep it from retracting and let it dry, I did have to modify the mounting bracket alittle but nothing hard ;). The mechnism works perfectly, and yeah i have been in a situation where they've locked up. Not the solution for everyone but it worked in my case :D.

unfortunatly they dont have a place like that in NYC they have a bunch of junk yards but they dont let u near the cars for "insurance" reasons lol and if they are lazy then they say they dont have it and in some cases i see the truck sitting right there with the belts visible its like ugh!
