Hey I've been searching around the major sites (napa, autozone, fpn) and no one seems to be carrying a sending unit. My float has sunk so my gas gauge is pegged on E so i kinda want to get it fix haha. I'm sure I won't be able to buy just a float. Maybe they just aren't listing them but i would like to have a ball park figure on how much one will cost.

I'm also haveing a problem with atf dripping down from behind the dash. The only place this could be comming from is the speedometer cable so I need a new one of those. My question is what do they usually come with, i'm assuming i'll reuse the pinion but other than that is the speedometer cable you get at say autozone complete?

Thanks!

A lot of the time, the fuel gauge sender is sold with the fuel pump as a complete unit. See if that helps. www.partsamerica.com lists them this way.

IMO you're better off replacing the whole assembly (which includes everything pump, sending unit, strainer etc). Often when you drop the tank the tubes at the top of the tank are very rusted. The 1st Gen Fuel Pump (http://www.partsamerica.com/PartDetails.asp?SourceArea=&SourcePage=SEARCHRESULTS&MfrCode=MST&MfrPartNumber=E2144S&PartType=52&PTSet=A) is $120.
