Billy177 11-24-2004, 12:17 AM you can pull the insturment cluster fuse but i don't know if there is a way to disable it without doing the same to the speedo surreyford 11-24-2004, 12:51 AM can i just pull the plug out the back of the gauhe cluster?? I gave a 99 xlt Billy177 11-24-2004, 01:51 AM why do you need to do this NOTAJP 11-24-2004, 02:25 AM This site does not promote any illegal activity. surreyford 11-26-2004, 02:22 AM My friend is painting my whole cluster up for me like the one he did in his truck, but I still need to drive to wrk for the next 3 days... I just want to make sure I dont break anything before I even get it out :/ LOGJOCKY 11-26-2004, 09:16 PM so u are taking the cluster out and still driving the truck for 3 days??? Doug 11-26-2004, 10:32 PM Yeah the gauge cluster just unbolts once you get the trim ring off. there are a couple of connectors and bulbs that need to be undone in back, it's pretty easy really. doesnt take much more than 20 minutes. surreyford 11-27-2004, 12:12 AM taking out the gauge cluster and still drining wont cause any problems will it? NOTAJP 11-27-2004, 02:02 AM Just don't get pulled over. LOGJOCKY 11-27-2004, 02:53 PM not if u dont care how fast ur going, how much gas u have left, what ur rpms are...etc TJM623 11-27-2004, 07:42 PM i got a better idea...put a blindfold on and just floor it :burnout: Driving without cluster sounds like a bad idea to me :thumbdwn: Just wait for a long weekend or see if family member can loan you a car for a few days if you need it done that badly. That's what i'd do My98xplorer 11-28-2004, 09:16 PM not to mention that unplugging your odometer is a felony!! TJM623 11-29-2004, 01:11 PM I still like my idea better... :D LOGJOCKY 11-29-2004, 09:00 PM lol snowburns 11-29-2004, 09:20 PM I'd like to see the look on the cop's face when he sees you've got not guages whatsoever.... TJM623 11-29-2004, 09:42 PM Better yet I'd like to see the mess in his pants :p SemperSaint 12-02-2004, 10:15 PM I just want my odo to work again. Mine just stopped on my 96 XLT. section525 12-02-2004, 10:18 PM I just want my odo to work again. Mine just stopped on my 96 XLT. If your speedo works, but your odo doesn't, then it's probably an actual gauge problem. I'd pull it off and see if you can see anything loose/broken. SemperSaint 12-02-2004, 10:44 PM Is that difficult to do? I've never pulled that stuff apart on either one of my X's. |
