I was wondering if anybody knew of an electrically controlled valve that is normally closed and opens with a 12V signal. I've got an oversized transmission cooler (it barely fits between the headlights and is as tall as will fit- made for a Duramax Diesel) and I'm looking for a valve that I can route a bypass through. A 2 way or 3 way valve would work. I was thinking of a heater control valve because fuel valves tend to be pretty small bore, and I don't want to have a lot of restriction when it is bypassing fluid.
I don't care what make of car/truck it is from, I just don't want the "thrmostatically controlled cooler bypass valve" that is available but adds restriction (lowering flow), opens at too high a temperature (non-adjustable), and costs a hundred bucks  .
I would also be interested if there was a modulating valve that was pretty cheap (maybe mount a rheostat instead of a switch in the cab).
TIA for any suggestions.
