Got one here I can't figure out and can't find anything on here that covers my problem. I have a "99" EB. The "auto" setting for heat is not keeping the temp in a comfortable range. I keep the heat setting on 72, heat works fine warms up great...............then gets too hot. Then it won't be to long until the AC kicks in, and cools it down passes right by comfortable and gets really chilly, then you guessed it...............heat and then hot then cool then cold...........and so on. I'm sure this is not a blend door, but I can't figure it out. My other "99 EB works fine so I know how it should work but mine just won't regulate. Wife says we can't swap so I guess I need to fix mine :D
Thanks in advance for the help. "pear"

Check the pressure of the A/C system. If the compressor get low on freon, it will shut it down to reduce the possibility of damaging the compressor. And then once the pressure gets bled to the low side from the high side, the compressor will kick on again. That is the only thing I can think of. I don't have climate control, so if something is wrong with that, I have no clue.

How quickly does the compressor cycle on and off. If it does it fairly often then it is low on freon and needs a recharge. I think that the way Ford designed the compressor to come on all the time with all settings is retarded, but that is just me. Give me a push button for the A/C please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Try cleaning the temperature sensor located behind the little vent in your dash. If that gets crudded up, it doesn't work as efficiently as is should and your temp fluctates more.

Just to the right of the steering wheel, in the dash you should see a small grilled vent (about the size of a thumbprint).

Tom I think I found it, just to the right of the radio on my 99 EB. I popped the vent grid to find nothing but a small duct. I lightly blew air back the duct in hopes of cleaning the sensor. I have not yet had a good trip out to check it but will report back after I do. Do my findings seem to be what you expect? Please advise if any other ideas you may have. Thanks, "pear"
