Well my A/C compressor crapped out the other week and I thought I'd be ok just unplugging it. Not!! It lasted about 5 days and then shredded the belt right off. Should anyone else find the need a belt from a non A/C Ex will work and bypass the A/C comp. My search now begins for a replacement good thing it's cold I don't have to hurry. Anyone know off hand are these things rebuildable or not worth the time?
Thanks

Don't waste your time on rebuilding... and get your replacement compressor from an auto AC shop....... and a rebuild will be a LOT more than replacing the clutch and compressor.... the entire system is likely contaminated.

Don't forget to replace the accumulator, oriface tube and flush the rest of the system if you find "black death" or metal debris in the lines.
