View Full Version : Linking up with other 4wd Clubs

Hey guys,

We should look into possibly linking up with some of the other 4wd clubs in the New England area. There must be some well established clubs have trail runs and trail cleanups on legal trails, that we just don't know about. They also have established community and state relations, to help in the fight to open more trials. I think it would be a great way to further our club, and help make a difference. We have about 15 Explorers who like to wheel, and that can matter. Let's get our voices heard.

I know that Moderator CBoug76 is a member of something around here, hopefully he has some advice, or can help us out.

I'll try doing a little research and send some emails, but once I get back to school time's going to be tight. Who wants to help out on this project?

It sounds like a great Idea! I don't wheel my X though. Most of you know that. I will look into seeing if I can find some people. I am guessing it does not have to be Explorers?

If you have Christian leanings, you can also try www.UCORA.org - the United Christian Off-Road Alliance. We are just in the start up phase and one of our goals is to unite many different local clubs for larger purposes under a Christian fellowship banner (all are allowed, but the tenor of the site is Christain!).

(looks at previous posts and quietly chuckles to self.....no offense ;))

This all sounds like a cool idea...There are also so,e jeeper cleubs around, too. They had quite a presence at the Jamboree last year. I'm sure we can get our names known and make some valuable connections at the Jambo this summer.

None taken... I've made no bones about where I stand on the issue of faith -- AND -- on the issue of off-roading.

I'm hard core in both areas and a few others as well.

Perhaps we can all get together for a Kentucky ride one of these days. There is some pretty awesome territory here in the state to wheel and it is fairly central in location for a lot of people.

Actually I was chuckling because Aaron (V8BoatBuilder) is Jewish, and Matt is half-Jewish. :D I'd love to go down there someday, though. I'll betcha I have distant relatives; my dad and his dad lived in Kentucky for a while. If you'd like, you're more than welcome to come up for the 4-Wheel Jamboree in August.

Guilty as changed, I'm pretty darn Jewish. I think the idea of combining a hobby that brings people together such as 4Wheeling, and religion, which also brings people together is an excellent idea. However, up here in the northeast, you don't find many Jewish people into 4Wheeling.... :(

I would love to travel the country to visit and run trails, see new places and meet people. Unfortunatley, it'll have to wait untill college is over, and I have the funds/modified truck to mount such an expedition.

Keep the links coming, I was browsing some of the websites and saw some really neat trucks, trails, and events. Let's send out some emails.

What a coincidence. Matt is about half into wheeling, too. :D

I agree about traveling, too. I have neither the funds, nor am I up to the task of driving my 136,000-mile-old daily driver that far to beat on it and drive it back...not yet, at least...

Sissy... ;) I drive my 215,000 mile X'ploder everywhere.

Last year to Moab, Panama City, Wheeling, Dayton, and multiple places around Kentuck and Tennesee to wheel. :D

Actually, I've met some of the greatest people by going out with other groups in their areas to wheel. Each area of the country has its own particular style of terrain and what works best there - and it sure is fun seeing how some of the other guys do things.
