Is this what the recliner recall is all about? I just sat in my passenger's seat and it let loose behind me. Can this be fixed or is something actually broke and needs replacement?

this has been a problem with ford seats for a while now, I sewed up some straps out of material from an old back pack, used some bailing wire to attach them to the seat handle, and never looked back...no more metal to catch your pants when getting in and out, and it works better then their little handle ever did.

there's a recall for this ?!?!?! *(&%^*&%*(&%%^$%^* I paid the stealership over $300 to fix mine! Oh boy, I'm gonna do a search but if anyone knows what the recall number is please let me know! If I find it I'm gonna try to get my money back.

The handles are just held in with little pressed in metal rods. I'll probably just replace them with bolts.
I dont feel like taking this crap apart. Just finished taking everything apart to install XM and fix a head unit problem...

The recall is for a bolt that breaks on the drivers seat where the recliner attaches to the seatback.
