First you must take out the ashtray, there are two screws in that hole that must be removed, after that it is just a matter of slowly pulling off the trim panel with your hands. just be careful around the steering column, it is a little tight removing it, and i am sure it would be an expensive replacement. also make sure you get the 4wd buttons hooked back up properly upon reassembly, if so equipped. hope this helps.

Remember that there is the factory amp in all Explorers that either need to be bypassed or have a special harness for the JBl so the sub will still work... If you do not have the Jbl the amp is in the rear passenger side panel...

if you want good true sound you need a cd/changer that is compatable with your
head unit or radio that is in the truck.
that way the changer is wired to the head unit or radio in the truck.most brand names
are cd/changer compatable only with within
thier own brand names.make sure you ask your
salesperson if it is a cdcontroler radio.
try www.crutchfied.com it will answer a lot
of questions you might have
good luck!
