Hey all,
I posted his on the Ham Forum, but since you guys do alot of installing, I thought somebody here might be able to help me out. http://www.4x4central.com/ubb/smile.gif
I just up graded to a 97 XLT and now I need to find a place for my Cobra 29NH ST CB Radio.
The Unit Dimensions: 7-1/4 x 2-1/4 x 8-5/8.
I didn't have a center console before on my 95, so it was mounted under the ashtray, but now I don't have that space anymore on my 97. http://www.4x4central.com/ubb/frown.gif The center console is not deep enough to mount it in there, plus my CD changer is there. I need to get this thing installed in a permanent location before going to Hollister Hills on the 23rd of this month.
Your help is needed and, would be very much appreciated. http://www.4x4central.com/ubb/smile.gif

Ray, I've got the same problem. I need to find somewhere for my Uniden PC76XLW. I didn't realize I'd have nowhere to put it until I was on the way home from the dealer... Dought!!! Let me know if you find a solution.

Hi Joe,
I ended up mounting it to the left hand side of the forward part of the console, at about a 45 degree angle, just where the console meets the dash. It doesn't get in the way of my right leg.I can also reach and see all the controls. I figured it was either that or mount it to the roof, but I really didn't like that configuration. Hope that helps.
If you got any other questions, just give a holler. If you find a better spot, I'm open to suggestions. http://www.4x4central.com/ubb/smile.gif

Hey guys i don't know what the ashtray looks like on a 95+ but i don't smoke so i removed the ashtray and made a mahogany faceplate for the cb to ride in inside the ashtray cavity i also made an identical faceplate below it to house my 12v recepticle - cigar lighter and 5 toggle switches. maybe i'll send pics for rick to post. i wanted to hide as much as i could, most won't find my starter kill switch either....

Hi Kyle,
Thanks for the info, but the ash tray in my 97 is a little cup with a lid(really this is from the factory) that fits in one of the cup holders on the console, so that won't work. I keep it around ( the ash tray)to put spare change in it when the coin holder fills up. http://www.4x4central.com/ubb/smile.gif

Just remember, No matter where you go. There you are.
