Its getting time to change my front fog lights. I would really like to have clear lenses but would also like having a amber lighting bulb. I may wire up a second set for all white. Whats the story on all the amber lights with the blue lenses? So im asking what types of fogs have yall installed and what are some opinions on them as to what to stay away from and all? I have a set of clear hella 550's i believe they are that ive had on my explorer for atleast 5 years. Thanks, Major

anything with blue lenses suck..... what ends up happening is it turns stuff blue and doesnt allow your eyes to see colors properly

Yea thats kind of what i was thinking on the blue lenses. On amber i dont get it at all. Seems like that would be completly working against the shade light you wanted in the first place with an amber light.

Yellow bulbs are OK but they dont put out as much yellow as a yellow lense does. My wife likes yellow and I have 2 sets of Catz MSR lights on the Mtneer. One yellow and one clear. There is, to my eyes, more light comming thru the clear lenses. I have 85 watt bulbs in the clear and 100 watt bulbs in the yellows. Do a search on ebay for Catz MSR or MSX lights. They have been discontinued in the USA and the prices are less than 1/2 now. The MSR & MSX have the best pattern for fogs of ANY light out there.

Assuming an Explorer uses a #9145 bulb like a Ranger, you can put in a #9005 all-weather high-beam.
