TAS98xlt 01-22-2005, 09:29 AM I use Acuvue disposable lenses by Johnson & Johnson. I wear them daily for about 2 weeks..taking them off every night. I have worn them to sleep by accident but it's not a big problem just don't do it all the time. BigBadWimp 01-22-2005, 09:35 AM Optix. I take 'em out every night, but only because my eyes seem to be pretty sensitive. I used a cheaper brand at first but could never wear them for too long, would kill my eyes. These Optix ones breathe alot better and my eyes don't get as red. JDraper 01-22-2005, 10:49 AM Both my wife and I wear Accuvue (Toric) daily wear. We wear 'em from the time we wake up until bedtime and then soak them overnight. We change lenses once a month. Some people have eyes that are very dry, and there are lenses available that breathe better than the accuvues if you need them, but they also cost a lot more. '96explorereddiebauer 01-22-2005, 11:04 AM I wear Acuvue 2 contacts. They are very good contacts. Even though they're 2-week disposible kind, I have worn mine for more than 6 months already and are still working well. Just remember to take them off and clean them every night and you won't have problems. tdavis 01-22-2005, 05:14 PM 1) Surevue 2) I dunno, I haven't tried any others. 3) about 18 hrs day, 14 days into the trash they go. My eyelids develop lesions/allergic spots (inside the lid) if I wear them longer than 2 weeks. 4) Yes, I have done it in a spot. My eyes don't like it with these, they develop crusting (allergic reaction to sleeping with them in) and dry out pretty bad. jgilbs 01-22-2005, 06:11 PM eww! 6 months?! i have the acuvue 2 week disposables and they never have given me problems (ive worn them 24 hours straight w/o sleep with no ill effects - they were still comfy when i took em out) but i guess you COULD go a very long time with them. you dont NEED to take them out when you sleep, but if you never take them out and clean them, they can actually fuse to your eye after a very long time (several months to a year - VERY bad) i also use opti-free no rub solution - its great - no need to get your hands all wet and rub your contacts - just toss em in and theyll feel good next time u wear em. mcG 01-22-2005, 06:14 PM Clear comfort lenses 2 week disposables I can sleep in them but my eyes are sensitive and get pretty dry if i do, so i take them out each night and never had a problem X~FACTOR 01-23-2005, 09:01 AM Clear comfort lenses Is that the ones from Cohens? You get 2 boxes + exam for $99? I'm surprised that not too many of you wear 'em to sleep... svande8952 01-23-2005, 09:32 AM Wearing your contacts to sleep can cause serious long term eye damage. The best ones for you are the new optix 2 that have the microscopic pores in them so your eyes get more oxygen. I have been wearing contacts for 10 years and I have tried them all. The dailies (ones you toss every night) and the new ones (breathable) are the best. BigBadWimp 01-23-2005, 03:19 PM The best ones for you are the new optix 2 that have the microscopic pores in them so your eyes get more oxygen. Yep that's what I have. They're pretty rad. X~FACTOR 01-23-2005, 05:43 PM Do you guys order them online? Where and how much do they cost? I've seen Acuvue for as little as $13 something per box. Not sure if they're the breathable kind though. Ford_Racing_Guy 01-23-2005, 06:00 PM I use Acuvue disposable lenses by Johnson & Johnson. I wear them daily for about 2 weeks..taking them off every night. I have worn them to sleep by accident but it's not a big problem just don't do it all the time. i use the same. they are nice because you don't really have to worry about cleaning them, because you just throw'em away and put in a new pair honestly i hardly ever take them out and i haven't had a problem. the only ones i had a problem with were the non-disposable ones i started out with years ago. i didn't clean them very well and eventually they had so much protein buildup that they irritated my eyes. tdavis 01-23-2005, 08:49 PM Do you guys order them online? Where and how much do they cost? I've seen Acuvue for as little as $13 something per box. Not sure if they're the breathable kind though. I used to use 1800contacts.com.. Until I found lensmart.com. Lensmart is *way* cheaper than 1800contacts, which is cheaper than my doctor's office. |
