So are we going to do this or what?

But JR You have to come too so we need to centralize it a bit more. I would be willing to offer my "yard" if Edmonds isn't too far, but it'll be cramped!!!!!!!!!!

A Park w/shelter(no beer  ) or a campground(beer) would make good alternatives as well.

C'mon I know there are quite a few more of you up here than I have met and this can be a truly no body damage event :D :D

What about maybe meeting At Tahuya? they have a camp ground?
I am 15 minutes east of exit 71 off of I-5 just to give you a idea how far south I is. I am going to be in milton the last saturday of march in the morning if i was going to go further north that would be a good day.

The weather the last couple of days has me cleaning the Q on the back patio. I got a fresh tank monday :) should be good for the season.

Anyone doing anything this weekend?

I have be wanting to go to reiter pit, but my rig will be down for a short while after I go to browns camp at the end of Febuary, I will be hopefully putting a ARB up front and having some driveshaft work done and tweaking the traintrain a little ;)

I could be very busy at work this spring, 60 hour weeks :thumbdwn:
but corprate greed keeps the OT cash flowing

SnowExploder- I got a rebuilt tranny with a high stall converter, kevlar clutches and a trango shift kit from a company in AZ for about $1200+core which included shipping about a year ago, so far I have put about 6k miles on it and so far so good they do have models without the upgrades for about $750+ core

Exit 71 huh thats 107 exit numbers down from mine, that is a long ways.

Are there any year around fishin holes down in that area??? :D

Didn't hear you inviting anyone though Albino ;)

Really, lets get this thing planned. I don't mind the idea of Tahuya, but also we have a few locals lurking on the board, that are more in the stock/street scene. It would be nice to get together at an easily accessible place for Q and beers.

I know there are others checking this thread, so post and join us. It is always just 3 or 4 of us that actually get together, all the rest of you should introduce your selves as well.

My thoughts are the end of Feb to the beginning of March as a time frame.

The location is the toughy as we are all spread all the way down the seaboard to Oregon. Tahuya's campground would be good, but I worry about those from Seattle wanting to get home via ferry late at night. Me, I sleep where I drink. :D

My other concern with a campground is our fickle WA weather. I don't mind playing in the rain, but a shelter would be nice, especially for those of us with little ones. A warm shelter where the party can continue rather than us all getting in our respective X's.

Now if I only knew where that where was. My concrete pad of a back yard is available, just up north a bit for JR. Hey Albino, How big is your yard and grill :p ? You are a little further south.

But then I suppose that Tahuya is quite a drive for DWD up in (arlington?) Not to mention Gina (bellingham) if she catches this thread and is interested.

Any more suggestions anyone..............?

OH,,,,,,,,,,,,,you mean I have to invite people for them to show up??????

Perhaps we need multiple events, a couple of Meet & Greet's and a Naches planning party?

We could have a North M&G and a South M&G so the gregarious folks can attend both and those that don't want to drive all day, can stay local.

Then Tahuya for the Naches planning party and some dirt play?

SO,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, lurkers from the North, where is a good place to meet????

Joe, how about a place down there?

What about the last saturday of march up north somewhere, I will be in milton in AM, I should be done with the FWORC (http://207.202.208.243/faithwheelers/) club meeting around 9:30 AM

To determine the best location everyone who wants to be involved with a BBQ needs to speak up, I think the majority of the people are up north.

If we don't want to cook our own, there is Dixie's. It's in the NE corner of teh intersection of I-405 and SR-520.

Excellent Q and you get to meet "The Man" (I dare you! I have and I'll never forget it  )

I gotta make sure they are open on Saturday's though and we HAVE to be there before 11, or whenever they open.

So, are all(?) invited?... I've waited a long time to taste some real time B-B-Q... And to meet some fellow Ford Explorer site members... My wife and I are both from the Southeast and if yall are going there anytime soon, you gotta try "Sonny's" BBQ restaurants, if Dixie's is even half as good, "I'm there" :D. Think it would be fun to finally meet some of you guys (yes, I mean gals too if ya are coming) So count me in (I guess I gotta bring the wife and son too, right?) Anyway, not too far of a drive for me, Silverdale here... Just no making fun of my seemingly eternal non-lifted 2002 XLT

Well I haven't been very social either. I need to do a lot of work on my rigs and don't have the money. Plus the weather here has had me depressed. Every weekend it is gloomy outside and usually raining. Most weekends I was in my bathrobe until 4 or 5 in the afternoon. But I have been excersing in the mornings now for a while and it has seemed to help get me out of my funk.

AJ- I thought maybe chico had moved or something because after I did that winch mount I haven't seen or heard from him, before that I saw his explorer all over the place..

Well I ran into Chico in October and then just this weekend. He gave me his number in October but it is still sitting in my visor. I said we would get together on a weekend soon and they could show me some areas where I could take my Ex and play.

For directions I got the addy for the the BBQ place (11522 Northup Way, Bellevue, WA 98004-1411 US ) and typed it into mapquest, which I suggest for everyone unsure of how to head up there. It's only 193 miles from here haha. Are we gonna get any wheelin goin on or is it just some munchin? I broke my front driveshaft so I've been 2 wheelin it for the past week but I'll have the custom one on by hopefully this weekend. later guys(and chicks) take it easy

At this point it is just eats and greets. We will discuss planning a July run around the Naches area East of Mt Rainier (if it hasn't blown its top by then  ) (or the DNR hasn't closed it due to fire hazard from the drought :fire: )

That travel time calls for the drive AROUND (SR303 to SR304 to Hwy3 to Hwy16 to I-5 to I-405).....I hate the ferry system anyway......besides why the heck would I wanna pay for 2 X's to get on the boat? It would cost just as much to fill them both up.....We love to drive anyway.

We always stop in Southcenter to do a bit of shopping (Mall, & IKEA), but I hear the Bellevue Mall is real nice, and I might wanna do a bit of shopping when I am there too.

When we get there, I'd like to hear some opinions on the exhaust on my Green X......

Spdrcer34
03-19-2005, 09:48 PM
I have a custom 3" catback with a Ravin (Midas' Flowmaster) Muffler. I REALLY like the exhaust tone, and get compliments on it all the time. I didn't notice ANY loss in torque, like everyone expects me to. I think it's because the exhaust manifolds and cat create enough backpressure still that it doesn't effect me....

Y'all got directions? Basically; from I-405 take SR 520 East (toward Redmond) exit at the first one East of 405, 130th Ave NE, turn right at the light at the end of the exit. You will now be on Northup, head back towards I-405 and Dixies will be on the right. The overpass you see in the picture is I-405. It's pretty easy to miss the driveway if you are not paying attention.

See Y'all there! :burnout: :bounce:

Several of us met the man, and I think a few may regret that tomorrow

Unfortunately my pictures didn't look that great. Too dang hard to get all them X's in the frame and get any detail with a cheap digi camera. But here's the group.

I think my truck got a bit of an inferiority complex sitting between Siekyre and DWD. Must be time to get busy on an axle swap, though I'm kinda scared to jump into my truck without any previous knowledge and a pre-made kit. My buddy seems to have infinite delays getting the Toyota parts all together. I finally started cleaning his axle up, but now I need the swap kit, and a few tools. Possibly mine is first ;) .
Well first I have fish to catch this summer, then we'll start thinking about that :bounce:

Thanks everyone for coming out. We'll have to get together again in a bit drier weather this summer. Possibly at a campground or such for a weekend :D

Well after hanging out in Bellevue for a few, and got some shopping done, we headed home.

As I took the SR-16 exit from I-5 a Toyota Tacoma that was 4 cars in front of us (I was in the lead) took the offramp a bit too fast, and spun out wrecking his truck. Everyone in front of us locked `em up, I had no chance to stop in time, but I narrowly avoided an accident by pulling to the right hand shoulder, while I was still hitting the brakes passing the car that was in front of me. I was in the clear. I look in the rear-view mirror and see my wife hitting them hard too, with an big rig right behind her....she was mere INCHES from being hit by that truck. As I jumped out to check on the guy that wrecked, I left my keys in the ignition, with the engine on, and I shut my door. I have no door handles. And for some reason the spare remote that my wife had with her wasn't working to 'pop' my doors open....turns out the big rig that almost hit my wife was an empty flat-bed tow truck. He was able to load up the totalled Tacoma, AND get me back into my X in a matter of 10 minutes.

We made it home safe & sound, nerves a bit shaken, but safe none-the-less.

It was GREAT meeting you guys, now my wife has this crazy idea to lift her green X, THANKS ALOT! lol :D

I have pics, I have them on my computer, but I'm just a retard I guess......because I can't get them to re-size PROPERLY still. I can get them to 640x480 & less, but the quality sucks that low!

I downloaded a free program (Irfan view?) to re-size them, but I still don't think I'm doing it right.

My goodness! It sure has been a while since I've posted here!

What a lovely outing that was last year. Good food, scary "man sauce" guy, and lots of rain! =)

Good to see many of you are still kickin it with your Explorers even through the $3+ gas prices. My ol' XLT is still in the family...my sister's boyfriend bought it! :D :yelexp: :D
