Does anybody here know what the stock horsepower and torque ratings are for the 4.0's in the 91-94 explorers?

I'm thinkin of a motorswap but don't want to bother if the output isn't much different.

The numbers I see most are
HP: 160 @ 4200 RPM
Torque: 220 @ 3000 RPM

All 91-97 OHV's are the same for power, or so I heard.

A friend of mine dod a HO 5.0L conversion into his 93 explorer.

He did a dyno run before and after the conversion.
His OHV 4.0L had all the bolt on mods

The 4.0L made more torque then the 5.0L
However that was quickly fixed by boosting the power of the 5.0L

According to my Chilton's, page 1-11, horsepower on 91 thru 95 is 160@4200. Torque for 91 thru 95 is 220@2400.

I have an 86 Bronco 302 EFI was gonna swap from but there isn't much point since the torque is about the same but the HP is a bit lower.

stock 302 =~ modifed 4.0 OHV

modified 302 = 02348503485 times 4.0 ohv

now a stock 4.0SOHC is almost equal to a stock 5.0

i belive a stock 5.0 is like 211 hp

stock 4.0 SOHC is 205

stock 4.0 SOHC is 210!

My truck is an 86 w/EFI but thats not listed so I assume is would be very close to the 87.

The only advantage is 50ftlbs of torque, but the HP is only 15 more. I didn't want to waste the time and money modifying the 5.0. I just wanted to drop it in.

4.0 OHV engine:
91-92 Explorer: 155 hp, 220 ft/lbs
93-01 Explorer: 160 hp, 225 ft/lbs

stock 4.0 SOHC is 210!
Only the ones built from mid 2002 and up are 210, those with the hypertech pistons, which I wish I did NOT have.
