Just found these Proline Roof Racks (Baskets) Proline Racks (http://www.prolineracks.com/car-rack-special.html) on the internet and they seem to be a pretty good price. $130 for the 44" long basket and $55 for the 20" extension. Total w/ Shipping is $217. Not too bad IMO. It never says anything about how much weight it will carry. I imagine I'll put a tire on it, but only when on offroad or long distance trips (but then again Im lazy and probably wont take it off once its up there.)
So what Im trying to get to is has anyone had one of these or does someone have one and have anything negative to say about them. If not I see this in my future real soon.
Thanks

Looks like it's pretty good but the mounting stuff looks pretty expensive. Are you trying to mount this basket on the crossbars that they sell or the factory ones?

From what I read, I understand that it will mount on the factory crossbars up to 3.25" wide. And I'm assuming that the rack comes with mounting hardware. I didnt read any different, but I've got real bad ADD and probably zoned out.

BTW, haven't measured my crossbars, was gonna do it tommorow. Does anyone know if they are 3.25" wide or less? I'd imagine that they are.

The basket can only support what the factory crossbars can support ... and I believe they are rated about 100 lbs.
