I'm hoping to put some cobra r's on my 91xlt this summer, the problem is that it's 4 wheel drive, and i'm thinking that the cap for the auto hubs will be a problem with putting them on. Am I right? Is there a way around it? I was wondering if I could just leave that piece off, and drive without it, and not have 4 wheel drive during the summer, and save my stock rims for the winter?

thanks
eric

I saw Cobra R's once on a late-model Ranger 4x4 but your hubs I think are different. Also on the Ranger the R wheels looked like they had more backspace and set the tires inboard more. I didn't think it looked all that good on a 4x4. My .02.

This is about what they would look like on my explorer. It's not the greatest photoshop, but it gets the point across.

Won't work.................unless you bore/cut/dremel out the hole in the wheel, and have your current hub stick out of it............or swap over to 2wd.

Damn, I guess I'll just have to go to the back up plan, a 3-4" lift and some 33" tires.
