ok, this isnt even my car, im asking for my friend who has a 91 xlt, and i cant figure out for the life of me how the hell 2 get the old radio out in order to install a new head unit. can any1 help?! i have a 98 sport and it was easy as hell to do it in mine....

If it's the stock radio, there should be two holes on each side of the radio. There is a special tool that goes in there to release the radio. I use four small jewlers screwdrivers, one in each hole, and it works just fine. The other option is to remove the actual dash panel. Thius is real easy. Pull the ashtray out, remove the two screws holding the metal ashtray frame in and then the panel pops out. Be careful of the wires for the rear defogger and such on the left side.

Its hard to get it out I ended up smashing the thing with a screwdriver until it came free.
