I thought I read in one of my off road mags that they have an address you can send your old 4x4 mags and they send them to the guys over seas. Anyone recall this or was I imagining things??

Damn, that's a good idea. I hate to throw them away, but they stack up fast and collect dust.

I would think anything older than current issue.

Try finding a USO office they might be able to tell you where you can send stuff like that.

There's a list of other items that you can send as well.

Didn't find much info on the USO site but I imagine if you e-mail them they'll direct you to the proper place.

Thanks for the info people.

Also was informed of this:

Send them to the Faithwheelers Offroad club
1606 Birch Court
Milton, WA 98354

If you want to send them direct...
SSG Michael Shields
B Co 1/198th 155BCT
APO AE 09325

On the cover letter, mention that Todd Gilles (he's a member of our church that just finished a tour of duty in Iraq) said that we could send the mags to him and he would distribute them.

I have a bunch of Truckin' mags I would gladly give to military guys (along with Maxim, FHM, Stuff).

I know I'm sounding cheap, but I think it would cost more for me to send them out, since they weigh so much (I have a few years worth of all these subscriptions).
