because an 8" wide rim will fit better, not blow beads when aired down as likely as a 10 and doesnt look like a mexican truck.....

As ther are no lifted X's over here running 33s I dont have anything to look at, why does an 8" rim look better than a 10", surely a 12.50 width looks better, and more importantly - fits better on a 10" rim ?

actually the 10" wide rim will msot likey cuase a lot of rubbing in areas where the 8" would not... also they will stick out... yes a 12.5" tire is closer in width to a 10" rim which is what i am sure of your reasoning however, this will aloow the beads to unseat while aired down a lot easier.. and quite frankly there is not enough space to push out the tires or inset them in far enough to not look stuppid... 33s arent super wide or tall by any means, and a 10 inch rim assuming 4" of backspacing will push 6" of wheel from the hub out, not to mention the tire.. this is going to equate to about 6" wider than the body lines... thus looky very dorky, it will also most likely either not allow full tight turning or will rub like crazy most times....

Ok - got most of that - but.....

Still cant quite see how a 12.50 width tire is going to be narrower on an 8" rim than a 10" rim, surely the tire will just sit more in line with the rim rather than pullling inwards like it probably does on an 8" rim.

the 10" rim is wider... the rubber will confrom to whatever it is put on... mounting a 12.5" tire on a 10" rim will make the overall outside dimentions more than that of an 8" rim.... there is no way to better explain it to me anywyas... i understand this concept very well.....

For the 10" vs. 8" thing here is the best example I could find. -=Daemon=- in this picture has an 8" in the front and a 10" in the rear (for axle swapping reasons). You can see the difference in the overall width of the tires. The front looks tall and skinny while the rear looks small and fat.

It's personal preference but like Jim said earlier, with the 10" you are more likely to pop a bead if when aired down and rub somewhere than with an 8".

You have a better chance of rubbing with 10" and that set up.

4" of backspacing is what the stock rims sit at, and with those close tolerances, a 12.5 tires will most likely rub, bad.....

No problems. Those will work perfect.

What would it rub on?
As you go to a wider rim (with similar backspacing) the tire/rim sticks out from the vehicle more. When you turn it will make a larger arc and contact the fender more than a narrower rim. You also may have problems rubbing at the top of the fender in the rear, rather than tucking the tire inside the fender.

I like the black wheels. Those actually look really good. I don't, however, believe I've ever seen them on a black truck before. I think it'd look good. Imagine that; black wheels, black walled tires, black exterior paint, and then tinted windows?? I like the idea.

EDIT: About the rubbing issue -- you're biggest problem will be your front fenders/bumper. You will more than likely hit those spots with a 10" wheel.
