hey, i was just wondering do chicks like explorers, or anything lifted. because i'v had girls that loved my car, and girls that thought it made me look like a hick. just thought i'd see what you had to say about it.

Well i do not want to speak for all the other women on this site,but not only do i own an EX,i own a nice fast muscle car too. There is nothing better than cruising down the strip, pulling up beside some guy in his Daddy's car waiting for the light to change and humiliating him in front of his friends by kicking his butt!!!! That my friends is almost as fun as hill climbing. I personally will take a lifted truck or a muscle car, as long as i'm driving!! LOL.

I can't remember if any girl has actually complimented my X...small lift but noticable. I'm impressed if they even notice that it's higher than usual. It seems to me that there are a lot of them who prefer bling these days, but hopefully that fad will die and die hard.

You could get more specific such as more bass but with still good sound quality. Most people around here with any bass have horrible sound quality. Just like someone could go buy street tires for offroad, were someone else buys the offroad tires for offroad.

My girlfriend has an Explorer as I mentioned earlier. Yesterday she told me she might want to sell hers and go with a newer X that a friend of ours is selling. We will be going to go take a look at it this weekend probably. She just loves Explorers, can't argue that!

my girlfriend loves my truck, but hates to have to jump to get in, but she likes how lifted trucks look, and she hates rice burners or binged out trucks, that all you can hear is that bass,

I think the broadest comment to be made on the subject is, women generally are attracted to a man whose automobile suggests he has money and/or knows how to spend money wisely.

A flashy car with a lot of aftermarket stuff tacked on just says the guy is trying hard to get attention. EDIT=Or needs the approval of strangers, for some reason./EDIT (Maybe he was ignored as a child?) But it also suggests he's not smart with money: Few, if any, of the things he's bought for the car will ever pay him back in resale or efficiency of operation.

OTOH, a vehicle with a reputation for holding its value says a lot of good things about its owner. Even if you can't afford a new one, buying an old one (e.g., a Mercedes, BMW, Audi, etc.) and maintaining it well tells any girl who notices, "I am thinking about the future."

There are always exceptions, but if I were still in the dating game, I'd do what the largest number of females will respond to.

I'm not suggesting that one not be true to oneself. If one is a lousy money manager, there's nothing wrong with advertising that for all to see.

But it is an unattractive trait to most women, if the world around us is any guide. Look around and you'll see. To put it crudely: The MILFs are all married to men who are smart with money.

Mind you, this isn't a message we get from advertising. Everywhere we look on TV, in the movies, and on the billboards, the guy with the show-off car always gets the swimsuit girl. Naturally, the only way most of us can get the show-off car in the first place is through debt ... which the advertisers are happy to facilitate!

But they don't tell you that the show-off cars depreciate the fastest, and that the flashy accessories add nothing to resale value, lifespan, or simplicity of maintenance -- things that wise money managers pay attention to. And to a certain extent there are people who live their lives in ignorance of this and see nothing wrong with wasting money and living in debt, as long as they have the appearance of status. Those people, male and female, tend to find each other.

I only raise these points to caution my fellow car enthusiasts that the original question, "Do chicks like Explorers?" could have many answers, depending on what the ultimate answer is that one seeks.

MSMITH, putting work into a car especially the flashy ones may or may not repay your investment monetarity, but the satisfaction I get after putting a day's work into my car is enough for me. By the way, I'm not in debt either, not everyone max's out their credit cards to tune on the truck a bit. My truck isn't heavily modified, but you can tell it isn't stock, and when I get compliments, especially from the ladies, it makes me feel like the hard work I put into my truck, and the time it took to make the money was well worth it. Also not all of us are looking for resale, I plan on maintaining my truck to keep for years to come, eventually buying a new car and making my X a progect. I believe that if you can get 150 + miles out of one car these days you got your money's worth, not to mention that some of the mods I have done (intake exhaust, headers etc...) have given me almost 5 more mpg on the highway. I drive a 5.0 which aren't known for their fuel efficiency, and if I can get 20 + mpg on the highway especially with reg. gas costing upwards of $2.40 a gallon, my investment will pay for it's self. So not only do the ladies like my car I accually got money to take them out after I pick them up. Come on HOT truck, and good with money, how could a girl pass it up!

The one thing about my Explorer that has consistently generated spontaneous, positive comments from women is the lettering on the rear window that says,

Some girls like lifted trucks but I have had way more comments from them about my stock appearing Mustang than I have about my modified Explorer. So in my opinion no, they don't like lifted Explorers they like Mustangs. Which is all good since I've got both. :D

I'm going from this to an 03 Explorer SPORT soon... any comments on the decision... if the ladies still dont like it I will be upset!!! LOL

I like things fast and with boost. So a engine management, the necessary boosting preparaetions and a nice supercharger will shortly be on the way...

I personally just bought a 95 XLT 4wd. My girlfriend had no clue I bought it, she thought I was getting a car after my wrangler blew up, she was exstatic, she haded my wrangler with the 5 inch suspension and 3 inch body lift, made it hard for her to get her 5'6" self in the truck on her own, let alone driving it.

I showed up at her house with the new XLT stock with 31's. And she loved it, much more then the super lifted wrangler. She asked if I was lifting this one, to which I replied "Hell yea, but maybe 3-4 inches to put some good kick ass 32's under it", she agreed and the rest is history.

So far I've had a lot of my female friends and the ladies of my buddies agree that the change from the jeep POS to the X was a good move and jumped my "attractiveness" as one put it, up 4 fold.

My conclusion, hell yea they like X's. I agree with MS, an X hold value, it shows a chick you're thinking about the long term investment and not a ricer with neons under it, looking like some nuclear bomb on wheels that waiting to blow any moment. The X has a very respectable, yet agressive look to it.

Hell no. I drive a 94 Explorer, my b/f drives a 99 F350 4x4. When I met him, he had an 86 Ranger S/C 4x4. I liked the truck before I had any feelings for him.

Freewheelin.... 5'6" and she has trouble getting in???? I'd LOVE to be 5'6". Hell, even 5'3". I'm 5'1" and my old 91 Ranger had a 4" susp and 31's.... the X has 31's, stock height. I'm leaning towards lifting it 6".... getting in has never been a problem.

And I LOOOOOVE driving the Superduty. I would buy another Superduty or an Excursion if I could find one I wanted, and I needed that much truck. We had a hard enough time finding first a V8 5 spd Superduty, then a 4 dr XLT 5 spd Explorer. Don't know if we'd have any luck finding a 3rd 5 spd.... they seem to be almost extinct in new vehicles.

The answer to the question "Do chicks like Explorers" is: Yes and no. We all have different tastes in clothing, vehicles, hobbies, men.

I like t-shirts and jeans, lifted trucks and fast muscle cars, and ATVing. But.... I'm a freak. :p

My explorer is street.

I got new pics of it if anyone is interested in seeing it, and even videos.

Anyway, girls seem to like my truck. Granted it has all the bling anybody could want and most of you don't like it, and judging from former posts about the louder the bass the less intelligent the driver, I guess my IQ is about 5.

With all of that said, girls love my truck.

If a girl meets my truck before me, so to speak, I usually don't have anything to do with her. Girls use guys for nice cars sometimes, like some sort of show of status. I like my truck a lot.

Although its in the shop right now getting a tuneup, new ceramic pads, and my brake pedal fixed (yes, it just sort of broke altogether so I had to tie a string and pull it to accelerate) systems do that to X's apparently.

Anyway, being 20 years old, I guess I am attracting a different croud of women then a large portion of the posters here.

Anyway, My answer in a nutshell is yes.
However, I'd have to agree with the member who posted that chicks dig the DB9 AM more.

More important than the question of whether "chicks" like explorers, or whether girls should even be called chicks, or any of that, I think the question should be, are chicks more important than explorers...thats a tough one! haha, just kiddin ladies!

Well me and my girlfriend of 2 years recently broke up. I didn't use to pay attention to the attention the lifted EX would get, but now that I actually am I will agree that the preppy girls of North and West Vancouver like a lifted truck. Maybe it's caus everyone here drives expensive cars and the EX is big mean and loud(performance exhuast leak). But girls randomly always want to go 4x4ing up in the mountains so if I'm in the mood i will take them out , and 2 out of 3 times they jump in the backseat before you get off the trail :D

When I met my wife, I had an 88 Mazda B2200 2wd w/ no reverse. As afore mentioned, she is now my wife. (we had to push my truck out of a parking spot on our first date)

When I was building up my Mustang, she hated it "too much money" she would say. Now, she wants to go everywhere in it, especially if she wants to impress someone like co-workers or old friends.

When I wanted to buy an Ex, she had a fit, "they roll-over, soccer mom's drive those, their gas hogs.....etc,etc,etc. I won that arguement too. Now she likes driving it and she is getting excited about being able to go camping, and what not.

You might be kidding yourselves if you think an your vehicles are getting you some. LOL. The only chicks that go after guys because of their vehicles are know as "succubus" (south park reference). A chick might look at your car first, but then she has to look at you next. If your ugly, she's just looking at your truck. If your not bad looking, then they will talk to you. I was already married when I got my exploder but I did have a 1977 Ramcharger in High School and even in my ghetto school it got me more chicks than anything else I drove who cared if I had to cross the solenoid to star it ha ha

my thinking on this would be the larger the tire size, the larger the lift which we all know are hard to do ,would require some brains=large IQ

Yea one thing though, it really all does come down the interior maain, all your power windows have to work and what not. My particular XLT came with leather and all the equipment you could get on on it before you hit the eddie or limited for the 94 year. Headliners are a major issue also. ( I hate it when ladies or some random people see me in my truck because sometimes I think there assuming "Oh this young whiteboys parents bought him that shit" I hate that! Because I dont even live with my folks and I bought it with grindin' paychecks (about 3) Females are always starin' anyways, didnt even need an Ex!! Hahaha ;)

In my experience in my little corner of the world, girls like 4x4 trucks and suv’s. I don’t know why. All the way through high school, the guys with trucks always pulled the girls. That being said, I had a car . I met few girls that were into cars. They didn’t care if it was some old beater truck with no a/c, as long as it was a truck, they didn’t care. It didn’t make any sense to me, and still does not. In college, it doesn’t matter as much, and now I finally get a truck when it makes no difference and I am married. Oh well. Girls that want you for your truck only aren’t worth having anyway…..

my girlfriend likes both of my explorers. She used to love the lifted one, and riding in it, till we were out wheelin one weekend, and we saw three people on a 4 wheeler flip it on a steep concrete ditch. They were teens, and one of the girls (youngest I assume) ended up going to the emergency room.

yes they do. Specially if it comes booming with high-end sounds.

my gf loves my explorer and shes super excited about the 2wd desert conversion cuz shes excited about blasting through the woops.....

she likes the first gen explorers most though... shes been BEGGING me to help her find a BII (she loves them to death) so she has a little truck of her own to get muddy...I just got lucky and found a girl who loves fords as much as i do!


girls who like mud or dont mind getting thier hands dirty or grabbing a wrench/grinder or any power tool for that matter are the best:thumbsup:
to me it means they are comfy enough around you to be themselves...

i think its great when they get comfy enough to fart around you (still gross haha) and laugh she even laughs harder when i fart... Girls, dont lie you know farts are funny!! hahahaha

My GF loves my X. She gets sooo excited when I let her drive it through an easy trail section (I'm working her up to harder stuff). At my last job (I walk to my current one) all the girls begged me to take them out in my submarine truck (snorkle). Girls like it.

That being said, I ran into my High School GF not too long ago. She hated my truck, haha. She said it looked redneck. No wonder we broke up, lol.

Find the right girl and she'll like you and your truck.

I love my explorer :)! Its easy cause I can just throw my goalie gear in the back of it. I'm thikn about lifting mine up 4'' and puttin some 33'' wheels on it. I also don't care what kind of car any guy has but every guy that I know around here hates it :rolleyes:

Actually, my husband was in the service many, many moons ago (he's considerably older than I), and that's what the guys called gals back then. :salute: It definitely wasn't meant to be degrading, so when he says it about me or another lady, I certainly don't take offense. I think it mostly depends upon the spirit in which it's said....and yes, this chick LOVES Ex's of any kind, whether 2wd (like mine, sniff sniff-- would prefer 4wd, but am not giving up my beloved!!!), or waaaaay lifted 4x4. In general, though, if a guy's truck is lifted, it had BETTER be dirty so I know it's not just a show truck-- I wanna know that he's really using it to PLAY! (BTW, I have an M.Ed and am from the 'atomic city' of Oak Ridge, TN [Government-created city where the uranium compound for the bombs was made, for you non-history buffs], so I guess this answers the question of whether girls who love lifted trucks HAVE to be rednecks!).

Both my GF and her sister are on their second explorers, my GF had a green 95 sport, sold that one and got a white '02.
Her sister has a green 4 dr 93, and got a white '03

My GF won't drive any other vehicle, we spent days going to car lots and particulars to find her trucks, I have both a 97 sport and a 4dr '02 and she likes them a lot, we wanted to lift mine (RB spacers + bigger tires) but with baby on the way I don't think we will

BTW, on my GF's parents' house you'll find her dad's '02 ranger, her sister's '93 and '02 explorers, and sometimes my gf's and my truck hehe

I had a girl the other day smile when I revved at a red light in my Exploder so...

My girlfriend loves my explorer, only for the fact that it fits her harp in it(so she does'nt have to rent a van). She drives an Altima, and I think when most people drive a car that's low to the ground they're a little apprehensive about driving an SUV. I drove my 91 mustang for 15 years, so it took me a little while to love it. I hope she does'nt drive it like her Altima(yikes). Why could'nt she play the flute or a violin, man that thing's heavy!

Girls don't care what a guy drives so long as hes a decent guy, and that the car works.

Girls like lifted rigs.. Compare how much you got laid in your car to how much you get in your X. Bet it's like night and day.

zukman loves his sami, and I had a 99 XLS(hated it), but when the 91 EB desert runner showed up WELL I love this truck! Move over zukman go drive your sami the 91 is mine! lol
