What tool do I need to adjust the headlights with? The part that you adjust the headlights with looks like an allen wrench. Where can I buy one? I hope its not a $50.00 Ford tool.

Just use the appropriate size of socket on a ratchet.

you can use a regular socket (although its tiny and most regular sets dont have that size) or go to pepboys or wherever and get the ford headlight tool for $5

http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductDetail.aspx?categorycode=3412&mfrcode=PBI&mfrpartnumber=648540 found it on parts america which is kragen's, but it says $.33 if you order it online be prepared for liek $5 in shipping..... (jsut a guess)

Just to let others know, I bought the Ford head light adjusting tool at PepBoys for just $2.99. A great buy.
Problem is that it only fits one of the adjusters, the one going straight up. The adjuster that faces the rear housing only has about 1 1/2" of clearance between it and the rear metal housing and the tool is about 2 1/2" long. So i'll just use a 1/4" ratchet and socket to get that one.

i found this old topic because i have a problem with my headlights.

In this pic :

you see that the headlights are in the lowest position. If i want to tow something then i cant move them lower and i'm blinding others.

so is this the correct place to adjust headlights up and down ->

Yes, you found them. I always found that Vise Grip (tm) pliers tightened VERY tightly on them worked pretty well. There are a couple of flat spots that you can see if you look real closely.

I just can't remember which direction you turn each side to go up or down. Leave the lights on while you turn ... you'll figure it out.

If it's the same as a 95 X it's a #4 Metric.
