I have a 94 ford explorer and I'm having problems starting it. The fuel pump is working fine, I hear the humming noise when I turn on the switch. Seems like i'm not getting the fuel..Sometimes when I'm driving it, it jerks a little. Does anyone know what I need to do to fix the problem

If it "seems like [your] not getting fuel," but the pump is running, the next obvious step is to put a fuel pressure gauge on the fuel rail and verify that the pressure is what it should be (40 psi give or take a few pounds).

You also might try pulling codes. Some no starts will leave codes in the computer that can help pinpoint the problem.

Have you replaced the fuel filter recently? If old, could be clogged....

Yes I did. My employee at work has a 93 explorer and his truck does the same thing. I'm thinking a sensor could be bad.

If the Fuel Pressure Regulator is going bad, it may not be allowing enough fuel to get to the engine. After that, you're probably looking at the pump itself
