I had just bought a 1997 Explorer and wanted to upgrade to the Pirelli Scorpion A/Ts..31X10.50X15 and the fellow at Town Fair Tire says that it will kill my all ready poor gas milage..12-15..because the computer chip is set for the 235/75R 15s that are on it..is there any way to change this so i can go with the taller and much better tires and not hert my milage?

My Explorer is the 5.0 AWD and i love it dearly http://www.4x4central.com/ubb/smile.gif

Roger,

You should ask the technicians of the computer chip manufacturer. I think they are better qualified to know what will or won't work with their chip compared to some tire dealer.

Please post again and tell me what they say. I am interesed in getting a JET chip and planning to upgrade my tires in the near future.

Roger,

I'm sorry if I read your post wrong. Do you mean the original stock computer chip?
