I own a 91explorer and for the last two or three days when I go out to start it for the first time of the day it seems like it doesnt want to turn over. In fact it sounds like it wants to die for a couple seconds and then CABLOWIE! it starts right up. I have no idea what this problem is, maybe a air filter? maybe not. Anyone has suggestions let me know.

Sound like your starter is going. A surefire way to check it out is to bang it a couple of times the next time it gives you trouble. If it starts up fine then you should replace your starter.

Hey JR, Mine was doing that a couple a months ago. I started with cleaning up the battery connections, and that took care of the problem. Good Luck
