I am considering a KKN filter/intake for my 92 XLT. I am concerned for one reason however. Last time I hit the mud pits my motor was caked in dirt and mud. I am afraid the exposed KKN filter would be clogged or at least very hard to clean after a few hours in the mud.
What do you guys think????

its probably smart to get a heat sheild for your intake and filter if you decide to, they are hard to clean and easy to get dirty... that should prevent the majority of mud coming from the underside and rear... another thing you might want to look at is rubber undercoating shields under the wheelwells to prvent mud comin in that route...
