xlt 1997 v6 sohc 50000km from new
i have been using mobil one synthetic 5w-50 oil for six months and ford have replaced the engine rear main seal twice in that time is this oil to thin or just my dealers useless mechanics .

I think I would lean toward either the mechanic not doing the job right or there is something else wrong that they haven't found yet. I've been using Mobil 1 in my 91EB for a couple years now and in my 93 SHO (it regularly sees 6000-7000 rpm) since I've had it with no troubles yet.
