'97 Eddie Bauer Explorer with the JBL system.
Stock stereo headunit

I hit the 'on' button, which is also the volume knob, alittle too hard.

The stereo now doesn't work. I checked all the fuses, and they're all go.

Odd thing is, the clock that goes on with the ignition, doesn't come on. When I press "clk" for the clock, it shows a VERY "badly off" time. Almost like the battery was disconnected. All the buttons on the stereo headunit light up, except for that clock like I previously stated.

The knob pops out a little too much, I believe, than it did before.
Also, I don't think the knob kept going around in circles, it used to stop - I think....

Any help, on how I could switch out the knob or what I could do.
I really don't want to buy a whole new stereo.....

You could try to take the radio apart to check if there is something wrong with the volume button. I will prob. have to do the same altough for a different reason. On my HU (BTW same car, same radio) the radio doesnt turn off when pushing the volume button. It seems that the button isnt enough "inside" the radio to disconnect some kind of switch that tells the radio to go off....

Anyways, good luck with that.
