Ruffles are always good.

I think you would like a flasher much better. Bama is good. I have Wayne's flasher. His website is in my sig. I can say he does great work. You can contact him directly for a Explorerdork price.

I have used chips and tunes from most every source and by far BamaChips has worked best for me and without any doubt Doug offers the best customer service.

You can reach him at http://www.bamachips.com/.

However, Doug is out of town working on the hurricane recovery; take a look at post 7 and 8 of http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1299043#post1299043.

I also support Bama.

As far as a chip or flasher I personally prefer the chip so I can change the program any time I want to at the turn of a knob.

I've used both a chip and now have a flasher. I MUCH prefer the flasher route (XCalibrator2 as at sctflash.com). I had a lot of connection issues with the chip working itself free which caused a lot of headaches and poor performance (including a lot of CEL situations). I hear what Monmix is saying about being able to switch programs on the fly (which is nice), but it doesn't take long to switch out tunes with a flasher either. I have a pile of different tunes on my laptop which I can bring in and out of the flasher as needed. I had a situation whereby one of the tunes was throwing a code. Doug (Bamachips) emailed me the tweaked tune and all was well. Any time you want to get any tweaking done with a chip, you need to disconnect the whole thing and send it back. I do NOT like the feel of my Ex without custom tuning, so that's a hassle.

I have dealt with Apten (for the chip). I had Wayne (Hyp) and Doug (Bama) both fill the remaining banks in my SCT chip burned by Apten (this was before I traded the chip in on the XC2). I do prefer Bama's tuning. His shiftpoints are more my cup of tea and I'm pretty much lost without his Performance or Torque 91 tunes in my PCM (even with the high cost of gas right now). Wayne is a great guy and he does have great service too. They're both site sponsors and you won't go wrong with either. Lots of happy customers of both tuners on this site.

Said it before, will say it again, no desire to EVER get dyno'd. If it were to happen, aren't 4WD dynos are rare as the dodo?

Hey Spindle, have you ever tried a Bama tune? I know you are the "Anti-Bama" and all, but how can you be so sure his tunes suck without trying them out? I ran all three tunes over a span of several months and always gravitated back to Doug's tunes. A HP here and there mean nothing to me. Driveability does.

Doug's a good man. As is Wayne.

Celly, chill, you can talk the talk, but the proof is in the charts, which I have posted, and some of which Aldive has posted, his are almost verbatitim to mine.
Thats expected with the same mods and tune, Al has posted 207 RWHP, but the charts he cannot post as they are in his words, messed up.
What makes you think I am ANTI doug?
Did I ever say his tunes sucked? I think not, as I have never tried one, and I have never stated that dougs tunes sucked as you call it, thats what you said, not me.
Is your conclusion that I feel Dougs tunes suck (Inever said that) is your conclusion that I am anti Bama,
'We all have our faves as tuners go celly, the end result is in how much HP can the tunes build, is only one way to prove it

Me chill? That's rich. Thanks for the laugh, bro. :D

Seriously, before you grind your ever present axe again and again....try out a Bama tune. Take it to your dyno. Post your graphs. You and I both know that won't happen for many reasons. Like you said, before you talk the talk, walk the walk. Then talk.

Hello??? I'm still waiting to see pictures of your "2pac" edition Explorer sport. Does it have a mural of Tupac on the side?
