I have a 94 Exlporer Sport manual trans.. 5 days after I got it, the transmission went out, reverse kept slipping and would grind when going into gear. Now, 2 mo's. later, my reverse is hard to get into. Could this be the same problem??? If so, what can I do to avoid costly bills???

Check the tranny fluid but my guess is that you need a new clutch. There should be a fill hole and a drain hole on the driver side on the tranny. Take the fill plug off and stick your finger in it. If it comes out dry, you could be low on fluid. If not then it's the clutch. Your lookin at a 300-500 dollar job. Hate to tell ya that. Good luck
